NCADV's Cosmetic & Reconstructive Support Program (CRS™) connects survivors who have been injured as a result of domestic violence to medical providers willing to donate their services. The CRS™ program enlists doctors and other medical providers nationwide to serve on its Advisory Council. These are our esteemed council members.
Dr. Abraham, MD, FACS, is an accomplished physician, double board certified in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. He graduated with honors from Cornell University Medical College, and completed residency in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the NYU Medical Center, followed by advanced fellowship training in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Microvascular Reconstruction at UCLA Medical Center. His practice Facial, Plastic, Reconstructive & Laser Surgery, PLLC is based in Poughkeepsie, with offices in Westchester and Manhattan. He is an Attending Surgeon with the New York Medical College and The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and teaches other physicians advanced plastic surgery techniques. He is Past President of the New York Facial Plastic Surgery Society. He has received numerous awards and has been consistently chosen as a Top Doctor.
Having survived ethnic violence, Dr. Abraham is committed to humanitarian work to make the world a better place. He has been involved with International Medical Mission work for several decades, and sits on the Board for Healing The Children North East. He leads two to three medical teams each year to help children with facial deformities, and has been recognized as a Surgeon Honoree for his dedication and commitment. Dr. Abraham is the current Chairman of the Face to Face Committee, the humanitarian arm of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Balestrieri, Psy.D., CSAT-S, is a Licensed Clinical and Forensic Psychologist in CA and IL, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Supervisor and Trauma Specialist. She earned her Doctorate pf Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Balestrieri founded a group practice in Los Angeles, CA that specializes in treating individuals with trauma, addiction, disordered eating, and/or relationship issues. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-sensitive yoga, and alternative dispute resolution (mediation). She serves as an adjunct faculty member at Antioch University's Trauma Specialization program. Lastly. Dr. Balestrieri is a member of the American Psychological Association and the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals.
Dr. Finn is a double board certified surgeon specializing in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He is president of Finn Plastics based in Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Finn is also an Assistant Consulting Professor of Surgery at Duke University in Durham, NC.
Dr. Finn earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH when he completed his residency in otorhinolaryngology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. During residency, Dr. Finn performed basic science research in wound healing for which he was awarded the Residents Research Award from the Educational Research Foundation of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Adam Schaffner, MD, FACS is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Fellow and trained New York City plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in aesthetic plastic surgery of the face, breast, and body. He was selected as a Regional Top Doctor by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. And has been named one of America’s Most Compassionate Doctors by the Patients’ Choice Recognition Program and has received Patients’ Choice Award.
Dr. Stanley was named as "The Next Generation of Cosmetic Dentistry" by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in 2015. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Herman School of Dentistry at USC and then went to complete a dental implant residency in Florianopolis, Brazil. In addition to Dr. Stanley's cosmetic artistry, he is also a dedicated researcher who has published in some of the top international dental journals. As a professor in the Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC, Dr. Stanley focuses his practice on minimally invasive aesthetic, surgical, and dental implant treatment.
Dr. William Stong is dual board certified in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He completed his undergraduate education at Emory, graduating at the top of his class, and finished medical school at the University Of Alabama School Of Medicine. He then returned to Emory for an internship in general surgery and completed his residency at the Emory Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck surgery. Dr. Stong then completed a fellowship in New York during which, he was trained by Dr. Andrew Jacono (among the most recognized facial plastic surgeons in the country, Dr. Jacono can be seen on Discovery Fit & Health Network and Oprah Winfrey Network on his show Facing Trauma). He also sits on the Face to Face committee, which champions against domestic violence by providing pro bono surgery. Dr. Stong travels abroad to provide free services to children with congenital deformities, including cleft lip and palate surgery.
Dr. Ben Talei received his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine (UCSD). He was nominated to the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Talei then completed his residency in Head and Neck Surgery at Columbia University and Cornell University Medical Centers. New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Talei is a member of the Beverly Hills Health and Wellness Committee. He is also on staff at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center, Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center, Cedar-Sinai Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Talei is the Advisory Chair of the Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA).
Dr. Talei has volunteered with Operation Smile, HUGS (Help Give Us Smiles), and Healing the Children on cleft lip and palate and microtia missions in Honduras, Ecuador, Columbia, and Vietnam. He established a charity with his brother, the Drive Against Domestic Violence, a car and driver based organization raising funds and awareness for organizations he reveres and works with intimately, The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and FACE TO FACE program of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Laser Surgery.
