The Hear Our Voice project is designed to give family, friends and allies of sexual and intimate partner violence a platform to share their story, talk with their elected officials and advocate on behalf of other surviovrs.  

The project consists of at least one each day.  Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault programs, community organizations, churches, and individuals are encouraged to participate and organize one or more of the following events in their community:

Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018
Wear black to signify lawmakers attempts to kill our voice, our dignity and our will.

Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018
Meet with Congressional representatives.  Tell them your story, or the story of a friend or family member.  If they refuse to listen, sit in.  

Friday, Oct 5, 2018
Call, email AND fax your story, or the story a of friend or family member to your Congressional representatives, as well as the White House and members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Friday, Oct 5, 2018
Call local newspaper & TV stations, ask for time to share your story, or story of someone else. Write an Op-Ed or letter to the editor.

Saturday, Oct 6, 2018
Organize a march or rally in you community.  Ask people who arewilling to share their story in public to speak.

Sunday, Oct 7, 2018
Organize a candle light vigil in memory of all those who have experienced sexual or domestic violence, or who remain in the darkness, afraid to share their truth.
