Community Outreach Liaison

The Family, Children, and Youth Community Outreach Liaison serves as a staff member at will of Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN). The Community Outreach Liaison works to lead and support community engagement activities, such as outreach, training, and education within Boulder County through trauma-informed, strength-based, and client-defined care with focus on social justice, equity, and accessibility for all. The Community Outreach Liaison will also conduct clinical research interviews with families and will co-lead parenting groups and provide parent coaching in the community. The Community Outreach Liaison works under a multi-year grant through the University of Colorado at Boulder (CU Boulder) focused on evaluating the Let’s Connect (LC) parenting program and providing parenting services to the community. The Community Outreach Liaison will receive web-based and in-person training in Human Subjects Research and data-entry software.

Experience Required

4-year degree in Human Services preferred, or in a related field, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 3-5 years of experience in human services, prevention, and counseling/advocacy with child, youth, and families, and a minimum of 1 year experience with evidence-based services such as Let’s Connect and/or TF-CBT. Clinical experience is preferred. Excellent planning, organizational, case management, and clinical/intervention skills. Experience with the dynamics of intimate partner violence, domestic violence, trauma-informed service delivery, and resources available to survivors of violence is strongly preferred. Working knowledge in community engagement and collaboration and as cultural broker. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proven written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English are required. Excellent organizational skills, problem solving, written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work and tasks. Requires adaptability to produce and meet deadlines in a fast paced, multi-task and changing environment, with frequent pressure related to meeting deadlines and scheduling requirements. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must have good negotiation skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with diplomacy. Schedule Availability: Days with occasional extended workdays, including evenings. Licenses/Certifications: Valid Colorado driver’s license with clean driving record required; access to reliable transportation with Colorado mandated insurance preferred. Great computer skills including Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms. You also have adaptability to produce and meet deadlines in a fast paced, multi-task and changing environment, with frequent pressure related to meeting deadlines and scheduling requirements.

Further Comments

This is a nonexempt, salaried position. The salary range is $41,067 – $44,122 annually, depending on experience; an additional $100/month ($1,200/annually) is provided for Spanish-language proficiency. Compensation also includes our standard benefit package, including a medical plan, dental plan, retirement plan, holiday pay and paid time off, reduced rate Eco-Pass, and Employee Assistance Program.
