Program Director

Program Directors are responsible for the ongoing leadership and oversight of a program or function, including the development of strategies and processes which contribute to the University and/or campus mission and accountability for services provided, including the development of strategies and processes which contribute to the University and/or campus mission and accountability for services provided.

Examples of Work Performed:

Program Development, Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the Dean of the School of Public Affairs, actively participate in program decision-making and planning through establishing goals, long-range strategies, procedures, and processes for the Center.
  • Responsible for organizing, recruiting for and liaising with the Center’s Leadership Council, a group of external advisors designed to guide the Center’s work both locally and nationally.
  • Develop and implement strategies to communicate with existing and potential students about CDV.
  • With the faculty advisor, develop a vision for the GBV curriculum; ensure that the vision and activities are aligned with the mission of the School and contribute to program assessment efforts.
  • Coordinate course offerings, scheduling, and faculty/lecturer assignments for gender based violence course offering and intensives with the GBV program faculty advisor and the MPA & MCJ Program Directors.

Development, Communications & External Relations

  • With relevant SPA staff, contribute to development of a marketing plan, alumni outreach strategy, website updates, and associated literature & materials for CDV.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders in assessing student, program and organizational needs.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events and develop new donor relationships in collaboration with University Advancement.
  • Represent SPA and CDV at local, regional and national meetings and events and make presentations to stakeholders.

Experience Required

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or University with a bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, public health, women’s studies, health education, health promotion or a directly related field. Minimum of four years professional experience building relationships with external parties to form strategic partnerships. Required: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications: Two years of experience in a higher education setting. Demonstrated experience planning workshops, educational series or events. Experience with a comprehensive understanding and passionate interest in the programmatic, political and personal concerns associated with the issue of domestic violence.

Salary

$18,000 - $21,000
